Active Ridley Park Wiffleball League Members

Dylan Harshaw

Commissioner - Captain - Long Ball - Developer

Born: January 13, 1998

Majoring in Civil Engineering at Lehigh University

Awards/Records:  Single Season Saves Record, 2018 AL MVP, 2018 AL Silver Slugger

Years Active: 11 years

Bio: Considered the one of the longest tenured veterans of RPWL, the Commissioner is a big reason why the league is where it is today. Harshaw was originally a dominant pitcher in the league, but persistent arm injuries have turned his specialty into being one of the smarter and more effective hitters in the league.

Tommy Loftus

Captain - Long Ball

Born: June 18, 1999

Majoring in Marketing/Art at Neumann University

Awards/Records: Single game innings pitched and strikeout holder, least amount of losses and lowest ERA in a season

Years Active: 3 years

Bio: When not striking people out, Tommy is also a member of Neumann's golf and club baseball team, as well as a pretty talented artist. His work has been shown at Ridley High School's art shows, and is available for purchase for anyone interested. As for RPWL, Tommy was a late bloomer, but has stepped up significantly is recent year, participating on the league's NWLA team, and being a member of our very on podcast "On the Clock".

Michael Ward

Born: April 9, 1998

Majoring in Broadcasting at Millersville University

Awards/Records: N/A

Years Active: 3 years

Drafted:

Bio: Aside from wiffleball, Mike played soccer for all four of his high school years, along with Donegan. Mike provides a sense of comedic relief to the league while he makes fun of Jay Paul and is known for his interesting swing while up at the plate. Along with Donegan, Mike also enjoys some natty lighs, and likes to pack bombs every now and then.

Greg Myers

Long Ball

Born:  December 15, 1997

Graduated

Awards/Records: Most completed games within a season

Years active: 11 years

Drafted:

Bio: When not playing wiffleball, you'll probably find Greg out on the golf course. As mentioned, Greg graduated from a golf academy in Myrtle Beach this passed December, and plans on pursuing a career in the sport, which is what brought him back to us. While at school and living down south, Greg missed out on the 2017 season and was greatly missed; however, this year he found a job back in town and will be coming out of retirement. Greg has always been a big part of the league, being one of the original founders and helping out whenever needed, and this shouldn't change.

Cam Farro

Born:  October 31, 2001

Attends Ridley High School

Awards/Records: 1 RPWL Championship, 2018 Rookie of the Year, 2018 Playoff MVP

Years Active: 1 year

Drafted:

Bio: Cam attends Ridley high school and is a member of the school's basketball and baseball teams. Cam is also a talented golfer which further shows his athletic abilities. Cam will be a rookie in the RPWL this year and is projected to go in the second round to Dodgers manager Tommy Loftus. We may have a possible ROY candidate in Farro, and he should be an exciting addition to the 2018 season.

Dane McGrath

Developer

Born:  March 20, 1998

Majoring in Actuarial Science at Penn State University

Awards/Records: Most runs, walks, doubles, and innings pitched within a single game, 2017 ASG MVP

Years Active: 11 years

Drafted:

Bio: Dane spent most of his life outside of the league playing both football and baseball for Ridley Park, racking up 12 years with the programs and now attends Penn State Main with a major in actuarial science. Danes career with RPWL looks bright, as last season he finally started to find himself on the mound. Dane has shown improvement each year but last year showed that when he's at his best, he is a top tier pitcher. Once Dane figures out how to stay mentally and physically under control, he will be a real threat to the rest of the league's players, NOT just its equipment.

Chris 'GOAT' Durning

Captain - Long Ball

Born:  July 28, 1998

Majoring in Accounting and Finance at Eastern University

Awards/Records: 2016 AL Cy Young, 2017 Silver Slugger, 2017 Batting Champion

Years Active: 11 years

Bio: Chris was a member of Ridley High's golf and lacrosse varsity teams for most of his high school career, and has continued his lax career at Eastern University. Chris has played a major role in the Ridley Park wiffleball league since its origins. RPWL itself is a direct product of Chris and Dylan playing wiffleball since an extremely young age, and slowly expanding since then until present day. While Chris was known as a dominant pitcher in the past, he has now become a base hit specialist, leading the league with a .371 average in 2017 and taking home the silver slugger award. Chris will look to have more solid ABs in 2018 and hopefully make his first trip to an ALCS.

Colin Pollag

Commissioner - Captain - Long Ball - Developer

Born:  November 24, 1997

Awards/Records: 2016/2017 NL Cy Young and MVP, most innings pitched in game and in season, highest BA, most runs, homeruns, and RBIs in a season, least amount of hits given up, most wins in a season, RPWL champion, 2018 NL Cy Young, 2016 Batting Champion, 2016 HRD Champion, 2016 Home run Champion, 2016 Silver Slugger

Years active: 4 years

Bio: Colin played baseball all 4 years of high school at Ridley, and if you had to guess based off the awards he's won, he is a pitcher. Colin also spends a lot of his time working at the Wawa on Fairview road. The RPWL without Colin would be like the NFL without Brady. As his awards show, if something historic is happening , Colin will most likely be on the other end of it. Other than hitting dingers and striking people out, Colin also helps run our stats for the season and is a part of our website design team. Colin probably loves wiffleball the second most out of anyone in this league, and his passion shows in his work ethic. Colin is an integral part of the league and it surely would not be the same without him.

Jimmy Davis

Born:  December 24, 1997

Majoring in Communications at Villanova University

Awards/Records: 2017 4th Man of the Year

Years Active: 2 years

Drafted:

Bio: Jimmy Davis was born in the wrong era. Jimmy might be one of the biggest basketball fan you will ever meet, along with music. Jimmy is the third member to our "On the Clock" and definitely has character known throughout Ridley. You might have seen the video where Jimmy got a hit off of Tommy Loftus, where he could have easily turned his hit into a triple, but was too busy celebrating on first base to care what base he went to.

Sean Bingnear

Captain - Long Ball

Born:  November 14, 1997

Majoring in Business Management at Millersville University

Awards/Records: RPWL champion, 2016/2017 AL MVP, most triples, homeruns, and RBIs in a single game, most triples in a single season, Most K's in a season (101), 2018 AL Cy Young

Years active: 4 years

Bingnear is a very athletic guy who played both football and baseball at Ridley High School, as well as for the infamous Nall baseball team. Because of this, Sean is able to transfer those skills to the wiffleball diamond and dominate the competition. Sean is known as one of the best players in the league, and butt heads with fellow Nall player Colin Pollag for the best to ever grace RPWL. Whether or not he is the best, he certainly has a case with all the awards and records he holds, as well as his two RPWL championship appearances.

Nate Smith

Born:  February 24, 2001

Attending Ridley High School

Awards/Records: 2018 Reliever of the Year

Riley Brown

Born:  May 11, 1998

Awards/Records: 2016 RPWL Champion, 2018 NL MVP, 2018 HR Champion, 2018 Triple Crown, 2018 Batting Champion, 2018 Silver Slugger

Years Active: 4 years

Drafted:

Bio: Riley played soccer all four years of high school and has been a member of the RPWL for the last 4 years. Riley has one championship already, and is a dual threat with talent both on the mound and at the plate. Riley's main purpose for the league is to just have a good time with the guys and kill clock until the party starts. Outside of RPWL you'll most likely catch Riley doing one of two things: Delivering some freshly made dominos pizza, or attempting to make a safe walk home after a long night out.

Joey 'JVH' Van Houten

Long Ball

Born: May 29, 2001

Attends Ridley High School

Awards/Records:  2016 RPWL Champion, 2017 RPWL Champion

Years Active: 2 Years

Drafted:

Bio: Joey is currently a junior in high school and is a member of the Ridley Raiders football team. In the RPWL, Joey started out by keeping stats for the older guys but is now one of the most active members of the league, helping out with a ton of behind the scene action as well as being an active player.

Jay Paul 'Pone' Volpone

Born: November 19, 1997

Studies at Delaware Community College

Awards/Records:  N/A

Years Active: 4 years

Drafted:

Bio: Jay Paul spends most of his time outside of the league either playing soccer, or with his dad running their business cutting lawns for Ridley. This business translates over to wiffleball as Jay Paul is also a huge factor in our grounds crew. "Pone" cuts the field whenever it looks out of shape, and is a big help whenever a storm tries to ruin a day for wiflleball. Jay Paul has been with the league for a long time and is one of our more devoted players; not missing a single game over our two official seasons.

Dennis Donegan

Captain - Long Ball

Born: July 1, 1998

Majoring in Sports Marketing at Saint Joseph's University

Awards/Records: 2016 Rookie of the Year, most hits and doubles within a single game, most doubles hit in a season, least amount of runs given up in a single season

Years Active: 4 years

Bio: Dennis played soccer all four years of high school, and also plays golf and basketball recreationally; however Dennis's favorite passed time includes drinking ice cold natty lights with the boys, which he takes very seriously. As a wiffleballer, Dennis has made a name for himself on the mound, earning the title of 2016 rookie of the year and setting the record for least hits given up in a season (5). Dennis is a dual threat on the mound and the plate, proving this in regionals batting .415 with the NWLA longballs.

Josh Butler

Born:  March 29, 1998

Majoring in Electromechanical Engineering at Temple University

Awards/Records: 2016 Rookie of the Year, 2016 Silver Slugger

Years Active: 3 years

Drafted:

Bio: In his time off the field, Josh spends his days working at the Disney store, Djing, and playing soccer. Josh has cemented himself as a top hitter in the RPWL, earning the 2016 AL rookie of the year award with a .458 batting average and will look to have a bounce back year in 2018. Along with playing in the league, Josh has helped out behind the scenes by lending his GoPro for recording, setting up his DJ equipment to play music for games, and even helping fund our 2017 strike zone. Josh's role will likely increase this year and we're happy to have him in the league.

Jimmy Bramwell

Born:  January 10, 1999

Majoring in Mechanical Engineering at Penn State University

Awards/Records: N/A

Years Active: 1 year

Drafted:

Bio: Jimmy was a member of Ridley's basketball team all four years of high school and played on both teams that made it to the district semifinals. Jimmy also played for Ridley's soccer and baseball teams, doing some of it all. As for the RPWL, Jimmy will be making his debut this season and will most likely fall somewhere in the second round. If his hitting in baseball translates at all to the wiffleball field, Jimmy will be an above average hitter and provide decent help at the plate for his team.

Zane Johnston

Born:  February 10, 2000

Attends Ridley High School, plans to major in Marketing and Finance

Awards/Records: 2017 Rookie of the Year, most triples and innings pitched within a game

Years Active: 2 years

Drafted:

Bio: Zane has played both soccer and lacrosse at Ridley High School and is currently a senior this year. In the league, Zane has been an asset on and off the field, mainly due to his graphic design assistance. In 2016 Zane played only 3 games with captain Chris Durning due to a broken collarbone, but his 2017 campaign was good enough to make him a unanimous rookie of the year. Zane held down the starter role for the royals, racking up over 40 innings and 5 wins for the boys in blue. In 2018, Zane will be back with the Royals as the first overall pick in the draft and will look to build off his success from last year to help provide Durning with his first playoff series win.

Brian Bingnear

Born:  July 22, 1999

Attends Millersville University

Awards/Records: 2017 Rookie of the Year

Years Active: 2 years

Drafted:

Bio: Brian had himself a year in 2017, taking home the rookie of the year award with Zane Johnston, and became a big role in the RPWL. Brian is one of our funnier guys in the league, always cracking jokes at the field and reminding us all that the game is about having fun along with winning. Besides cracking jokes and winning awards, Brian also helped start up our official RPWL podcast "On the Clock" and will look to expand on this in the 2018 season. Brian has gone from a first year player to someone with a major role in the league quickly, but rightfully so. The effort he puts into helping with the league and the podcast does not go under-appreciated and I look forward to see what he has to offer in 2018.

Vinny Albanese

Long Ball

Born:  December 4, 2000

Attends Ridley High School

Awards/Records: Most walks within a single season, 2018 HRD champion

Years active: 4 years

Drafted:

Bio: Vinny is currently a junior in high school and a member of Ridley's baseball team. Vinny has had a long career with RPWL, starting out around the same time as JVH when they were in 7th grade. Vinny has been known as a hitter for most of his career, but has also seen some time as a backup pitcher. Vinny lead the league in RBIs and walks in 2017, and will look to remain a solid hitter in seasons to come.Aside from being a player in the league, Vinny has helped out a lot over the years by performing whatever tasks were asked of him. Vinny constantly helps set up the fence, clean up after a day of games, and helps fix up the field after rain.

Bleach is one of the most lovable and friendliest people you'll ever meet in your lifetime. Bleach was a 4 year starter for Ridley baseball, and also played football for Ridley as well, not to mention his lifetime commitment to Ridley Park sports. Bleach proudly serves our country but still makes time to return to his roots to help run the league today.

Through his small sample size, Georgie might be one of the most reliable players in the league. Georgie has a true passion for wiffleball and is loved by everyone in the Ridley area. Georgie is another player who brings comedic relief to the lot. Georgie had started his college career at Potomac State College in West Virginia as a lacrosse player but later transferred.
